How To Make Walking Fun… or Funner… and Achieve Pain Relief!

Forsyth County, Alpharetta-Cumming Chiropractor and Chronic Pain-Fibromyalgia Doctor Comments:

220px-Omron_HJ112I’ve been treating chronic pain for the past 17 years here at South Forsyth Chiropractic in the Alpharetta-Cumming area and I encourage my patients to do some form of exercise every day.  The usual response is that they have no time to go the gym/etc.

Walking is the easiest and will achieve quick results!  Modify your life and make it work!

Just remember: A Fit Mind Needs A Fit Body and a Fit Body will ease the pain and strain in the body!

Walking is something we MUST do…

I found a great article that shows how to make walking fun.

Here’s an excerpt:

One of the easiest ways for most people to work in exercise is to walk.  Wearing a pedometer adds extra motivation by keeping you working toward a goal.  This works particularly well for people who have a sit-down job or live a sedentary lifestyle.

You could aim for 10,000-15,000 steps a day, starting with 5,000 steps ( or less) and working your way up.  Elaine Magee, MPH, RD

My Take:  Walking is easy and fun.  I walk at least a mile a day. I walk during my lunch break or in the early morning.  A brisk-walk is the equivilent to a slow jog… without the back and knee pounding!  If you walk every day for 15 minutes / 1 mile… you will lose over 7 pounds of FAT per year!  WALKING IS TOO GOOD TO SAY NO WAY…
